MEET  THE  COACHES

As coaches we have a responsibility to develop the players technically, tactically and as individuals.

We believe football has the power to inspire children, and we take pride in helping them to be the best young people they can be; on and off the pitch

JON ROLLAND

MANAGER

Jon grew up in West London, and played for the Charlton Athletic academy aged 11-17.  He later moved to Hayes FC and was an integral part of the team that won promotion to the Vauxhall Conference. 

 

After leaving Hayes, Jon moved to play for Corby Town and later Chelmsley Town. 

 

Jon is a Chelsea fan, and dedicated to seeing Park Gate Galaxy succeed. 

​

Jon plans and oversees our coaching programme and has responsibility for team affairs & player selection.

ELYSIA BEWICK-HEATHERS

ASSISTANT MANAGER

Elysia grew up in Kent and played football from the age of 6-16 for the local boys team, girls team and as a teenager for Charlton Athletic FC.

Elysia now plays 5-a-side football on a weekly basis for a local women’s team.

She has been a truly valued member of the Galaxy Community since it's formation and we are delighted she has joined the coaching team to support training and matchdays for our young players.

Elysia's valuable playing experience helps support our coaching and tactical activities and she assists Jon with team affairs.

MIKE BURDEN

CLUB FOUNDER 

Mike grew up locally and has vast experience of playing at clubs in the  south; across the Wessex, Southampton and Portsmouth leagues from junior year groups right up until 2021 as a veteran. 

​

After representing both Gosport Borough FC and AFC Portchester over the years, Mike has developed some great connections locally.

​

Mike is an FA accredited coach who founded the club following the COVID pandemic with the aim of providing local, talented children an environment to support their physical and mental wellbeing through grassroots football.

​

​

We measure our success by the improvements of each player and the entire team across each corner of the FA Four Corners Model – Technical, Psychological, Physical, Social

​

Our coaches have the necessary DBS checks that enable them to work with children, and have the appropriate FA certification in Safeguarding & First Aid.
