YOU NEED TO KNOW
HOW MANY PLAYERS ARE IN THE SQUAD?
For the 2024-25 season, we will have one squad competing at the U11 age group only.
U11 is 9-a-side and therefore Our U11 squad is limited to 13 players.
To each match a squad of 12 players (9+3 substitutes) is taken, and all players will play a minimum 50% of a match.
This enables us to promote the spirit of teamwork and healthy competition for places.
This process helps build determination and resilience in our players as they prepare for more challenging and demanding age-groups in the future.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO JOIN THE GALAXY?
We believe it is important to maximise the value that all parents get for any money that they pay the club.
We understand that paying a big lump sum at the beginning of the season can be difficult for many.
Therefore to join our squad you will be asked to pay a £20 registration fee in cash, and thereafter pay £25 per month via Bank Transfer.
This money covers league registration, weekly training and match fees, all kit and equipment, a players kit and training wear, entry to tournaments, end of season trophies and the upkeep of safeguarding and training qualifications for our club committee and coaches respectively.
WHEN AND WHERE ARE MATCHES PLAYED?
Park Gate Galaxy compete in the Mid-Solent Youth Football League. All league matches are played on a Saturday morning, with Kick-Off times between 09:00 -11:45.

Away matches are against opponents from across the region from areas such as Southampton, Fareham, Gosport, Waterlooville & Portsmouth.
WHEN AND WHERE IS TRAINING?
During the summer months (Apr-Sep) we train on local grass pitches.
In winter (Oct - Mar) we move to the 3G pitch at:

WHAT KIND OF TRAINING DO THE COACHES HAVE?
All our coaches have the required Safeguarding and First Aid certifications from the FA that enable them to work safely with children.
They also have FA Level 1 qualifications that qualify them to give young players an introduction to football as per the FA's "Respect" programme.
Our coaches regularly attend learning events delivered by Coerver and by the England Football Learning programme, and between them have a real passion for the beautiful game and a lifetime of experience playing local, district and semi-professional football.
CAN MY CHILD JOIN THE GALAXY?
Our squad is currently full.

If spaces do arise, we are a mixed squad and welcome boys and girls. We will assess the profile of prospective new players by inviting them to a trial - to ensure they are a good fit for the current squad, and more importantly that they like us!
All players we look to recruit should be seeking to play in a results-based team and challenge themselves in a competitive, strong, hard working squad.
DO YOU HAVE A WAITING LIST OR PLANS TO LAUNCH MORE TEAMS?
Being a new club, it's difficult to anticipate how things will pan out in the first few seasons!
Increasing the number of squads and/or age groups that play for the Galaxy requires a team of dedicated, hard working volunteers per squad.
